These terms and conditions govern the use of websites and online platforms relating to The Great British Bake Off, An Extra Slice and other related programming (collectively the “Programme”) including without limitation the website with domain name: staging.thegreatbritishbakeoff.uk (the “Website”) and/or any account or pages created and/or operated by Love Productions Ltd, on online platforms such as twitter.com, facebook.com and instagram.com using #GBBO, @BritishBakeOff and/or #ExtraSlice or on any Programme-related pages on bbc.co.uk (the “Love Pages(s)”). The Website and Love Pages are hereinafter collectively referred to as the “GBBO Site(s)”.

In these terms and conditions: “we”, “us” & “our” refers to Love Productions Ltd and its assignees and, where appropriate, to the creators of and contributors to the construction of the GBBO Sites; “you”, “your” & “yourself” refers to visitors to and users of the GBBO Sites and its content and, where appropriate, persons registering as a user thereof and persons submitting recipes, photographs and other material thereto.

Disclaimer

We are not responsible for the outcome of any recipe you try from the GBBO Sites, or any website or platform you link to from the GBBO Sites. You may not achieve the results desired due to variations in ingredients, cooking temperatures, typos, errors, omissions, or individual cooking ability. You should always use your best judgment when cooking with raw ingredients such as eggs, chicken or fish and seek expert advice before beginning your recipe if you are unsure. You should always take care not to injure yourself or others on sharp knives or other cooking implements or to burn yourself or others while cooking. You should examine the contents of ingredients prior to preparation and consumption of these recipes in order to be fully aware of and to advise others accurately of the presence of substances which might provoke an adverse reaction in some consumers. Recipes available on this website may not been formally tested by us or for us and we do not provide any assurances nor accept any responsibility or liability with regard to their originality, efficacy, quality or safety.

We are not responsible for the contents of any linked website (including any goods or services offered or supplied through such a website) or any hyperlink contained in the linked website. The inclusion of any link does not imply any endorsement of the linked website by us. Any link within a GBBO Site, which takes you to a third-party website is clicked on entirely at your own risk. We do not endorse or in any way adopt representations made by advertisers on any linked website.

Registration

You agree to provide true and accurate information about yourself as prompted by the registration form on the Website (‘Registration Information’) and promptly update any such Registration Information. You may only register once and you must not register, or attempt to register, more than once or attempt to achieve registration of more than one membership for yourself (eg by applying for multiple registrations or memberships by using different email addresses, different mailing address or variations on first or last name for the same person). When you register, you must provide your real name and any other such details as requested on the registration form. If you provide any information that is untrue, inaccurate or inappropriate or we have reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate or inappropriate or that you have registered, or attempted to register, more than once, we have the right to suspend, terminate, lock or delete your membership registration. We accept that you may make a mistake when registering information about you, and that you will need to correct such mistakes. However, we may suspend, lock, terminate and/or delete your membership if certain details about you (e.g your age) are changed on more than one occasion.

Submission of photos & other material

We may invite you to submit examples of your bakes on any GBBO Site for potential inclusion on forthcoming episodes of any Programme and/or other initiatives in accordance with the following terms:-

By submitting any material in whatever form including without limitation recipes, photographs and/or other written material, but specifically excluding any personal information submitted as part of the Registration Information (“Material”) to any GBBO Site, you grant to us the right to display the Material on such site and to edit, modify, adapt, translate, exhibit, publish, transmit, reproduce, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, display and otherwise use the Material at no charge and in any medium for any purpose (including for example in any Programme-related print publication) for the full period of copyright and thereafter insofar as possible, in perpetuity and for such purpose you agree to waive irrevocably all moral rights of whatever nature in the Material.

You acknowledge that in using the Material in accordance with this agreement, we may (but are not obliged to) identify you and accord you a credit, using the name you have given when submitting the Material (whether or not you have identified yourself by your real name or otherwise) and your place of origin.

The rights granted by you under this heading are collectively hereinafter referred to as the “Rights”;
Upon submitting Material to any Love Platform you warrant and undertake that the Material you provide:-
(i) is genuine and accurate and original to you, has not been copied or reproduced from any published source, tangible or electronic and does not infringe the copyright or any other right of any third party; and
(ii) is not defamatory, blasphemous, obscene or in contempt of court, and does not breach any contract, duty of confidence or right of privacy.

You further warrant and undertake that you are fully entitled to grant the Rights to us and for such purpose you have obtained permission from any persons featuring, appearing or holding any proprietary, moral or intellectual property right in the Material (or any of its constituent elements).

We acknowledge that except in relation to registering on the Website, you may otherwise, in using any GBBO Site and/or submitting any Material, use a name other than your real name. You agree that we may attribute the origination of the Material to you on any GBBO Site or in any other medium. Whether or not you submit Material (or request that the same is submitted) anonymously or pseudonymously (and whether or not we comply with such request), the warranties and undertakings and the grant of Rights given to us upon submission of the Material remain in full force and effect. We are not obliged to publish or exploit the Material in any medium or on any website.

Ownership of recipes & other material

You will retain copyright in any Material submitted, but we shall be entitled to use the Material in accordance with the Rights granted hereunder without obtaining further permission or making any payment to you. We may remove any Material if we are aware of or are alerted to or suspect a breach of copyright or any other proprietary right(s) without prejudice to any other rights or remedies we may have.

Permitted use of recipes & other material
You may copy single recipes and other third party Material posted here manually or electronically but only for your personal use. You may not sell or charge for access for any Material either singly or in collections. You may not copy sections of this website or entire collections of recipes. You may share reasonable numbers of recipes in email or on other websites as long as credit is given to author and a link (either clickable or text) to the recipe on our site, or a link to our homepage.

Indemnity
We accept no responsibility for your actions or omissions, and you agree by accessing and/or using any GBBO Site(s), to indemnify and hold harmless us, our employees, officers, agents and contractors from and against all actions, proceedings, suits, claims, demands and costs (on a full indemnity basis) brought or made against us by any person arising from or in consequence of such actions or omissions, and from and against any damage, loss, cost or expense suffered or incurred by us as a direct or indirect consequence thereof, including in relation to any Material you contribute to any GBBO Site (e.g through blogs, chat rooms or forums).
