About this Bake

This was a surprise cake for a friend. Six layers of sponge in rainbow colours, coated in Swiss meringue buttercream and rolled in hundreds and thousands. Decorated with handmade fondant Mickey and Minnie, no moulds used, all free formed.

Top tip

When crumbcoating a cake, chill your buttercreamed cake well and do two coats to get a really smooth finish before applying your fondant.
