About this Bake

I make my own mincemeat, which is cooked in butter, quite edible straight out of the jar! Mince pies in November seem slightly naughty and therefore taste extra good. They generally disappear before they have cooled.

Top tip

I use half self raising and half plain flour, plus all butter. It makes for a light, melt in the mouth pastry, plus orange juice and finely grated rind.
