About this Bake
This was my daughter's 10th birthday cake. She loves shoes and was SO surprised by this one. It started life as an 8" square cake, cut in half to create two long rectangles. One was the main shoe base and the other shaped and lengthened the shoe.
Top tip
Don't be afraid to layer and carve your cakes to create fantastic shapes! It really is easier than it looks! I use an 'all in one' madeira cake recipe and layer with buttercream or ganache as mortar!
