About this Bake
This cake was inspired by Peter's gluten-free version. I've adapted this from his and a couple of other recipes. Make sure you don't throw away the excess cake when you trim the battenberg - just eat it as another day's dessert!
Top tip
Get experience - this will be a lot easier to make once you've had some first-hand advice or personal experience. Also, when applying the melted chocolate onto the marzipan for the feathering, use a sharp tipped knife. This helps to create a much neater, steadier flow than a spoon could.
