I made this cake for a friend's 40th Birthday. She is crazy about Jane Austin. I wrote... "It is a truth universally acknowledged that a woman in possession of her 40th Birthday must be in want of a cake", because Pride and Prejudice is her favourite novel.
Top tip
Add Gum Tragacanth to fondant to help it set hard when modelling.
