About this Bake
This is Beth Black's famous pumpkin cake. My first mother-in-law (who just passed at the age of 103) taught me this recipe 35 years ago. Serving it at family holiday gatherings became an expectation. It's consistent and never disappoints.
Top tip
The higher fat content of the butter helps the icing set up nicely.
