Edd Kimber won the first series of The Great British Bake Off. With a third book on the way, he treated us to his tips for getting through tonight’s final…
1. Watch with cake
It’s basically an unwritten rule in my house that Tuesday means cake, just seems like the proper thing to do!
2. Turn on Twitter
The conversation and commentary on twitter during Bake Off can be brilliant and it makes you feel like a part of the show. But if you are watching on catch-up stay well away, people will name the winner.
3. Watch with friends
When I was on the show I found watching the episodes really nerve-racking, even though I knew what was coming. I even had to watch it on my own sometimes. Now I’m not on the show, I love watching it together with friends, everyone has different favourite contestants and it’s brilliant watching together.
4. Don’t worry if your favourite doesn’t win
Getting to the final is a huge deal so don’t worry if your favourite doesn’t win, the finalists won’t be disappearing anytime soon.
5. Think about applying
If you’re feeling inspired to get in the kitchen, why not think about applying? I can’t recommend it enough and I was one of those people who never thought I would get on, never mind win it, my advice? Go for it!
The Great British Bake Off final airs tonight, 8pm on BBC Two. Join fans on our official Facebook page and the conversation on Twitter. And stay tuned for more news on how to apply…
