We nabbed Glenn for a post-show natter…
What first inspired you to bake?
My Nan – she was a fantastic baker who never even needed to weigh anything.
What has been your biggest baking disaster ever?
Deciding to set up a small business supplying cakes as a teenager. I made the samples but didn’t have the courage to actually try and sell any. In the end I ate them – so not such a disaster after all.
And your baking triumph ever?
Probably the croquembouche I made for my brother’s engagement party when I was about 16.
How did Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry’s presence affect your nerves in the kitchen?
Paul and Mary actually scared my so much more than I expected. I wanted them to like what I was making so much – it’s crazy!
Which past Bake Off contestants have impressed you the most and why?
I’m a massive Bake Off fan. I love so many of the former bakers so it’s really hard to pick any out. But I always loved Cathryn’s one-liners!
What is your biggest fear in the kitchen?
Food poisoning.
