This is a chocolate cake with chocolate filling and frosted with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream (SMB).
Top tip
After you've baked and cooled your cake or sponge layers, cover them loosely with plastic wrap and allow them to sit for 24 hours or overnight. This rest will allow your cake to set up - your cake will hold the filling and frosting much better.
