About this Bake
This was a three-layer traditional vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream. The colours were based on an old-fashioned ice cream shoppe, using lots of pastels and light colours. All of the ice cream and candy decorations were handmade out of gumpaste, and it was finished with a white chocolate drip.
Top tip
The trick here is to make all of the candy/ice cream decoration ahead of time so that they can set and harden. Then you can easily just pop them on the cake once it is frosted.
