About this Bake
It was my first attempt at an iced cake and also my first time making flowers which were in three shades of purple. Relative was more than happy. The cake is a three-layered sponge filled with strawberry jam and buttercream. I made 50 matching cupcakes.
Top tip
Be patient when smoothing icing onto big cake - it marks so easily. Mix icing with coloured paste to get your perfect colour.
