About this Bake

I made this cake (Victoria sponge with green butter icing and fondant creatures) for my friend Ellie's 22nd birthday. Ellie is an artist and creates sculptures of brightly coloured monsters, which I tried to recreate in cake form.

Top tip

Buy two cake tins if you're making a two layered cake. Trying to bake a two layered cake with just one tin takes forever and produces a surprising amount of washing up.
