About this Bake

Fancied Belgian bun (can't recall when I last devoured one but pass them almost daily on the bakery shelf) but of course the shop had sold out. I decided to try to make my own, but could not find a recipe so with some baking knowledge & improvisation... craving satisfied!

Top tip

Lightly press fruit & citrus zest (didn't have any candied peel)into the rolled out dough after the first prove to minimise it escaping during the rolling up process. If no natural colour glace cherries available... avoid the bright coloured version (unless you don't mind artificial bits & b
