I made a birthday cake for my little nephew on his first birthday! He loved the bright colours and we even jumped on the "cake smash" bandwagon.

Top tip

Covering cake in fondant is more difficult than you think. Be sure to create as many cake and fondant off-cuts as you go so you have plenty to munch on while you work!
