Very tasty! Chocolate, cherries, cream and alcohol! What’s not to love!

Top tip

I used a chocolate cake rather than a gateaux recipe for the sponge and lightly soaked the sponges in kirsch liqueur. This is because the gateaux recipe I had (from a cookbook) resembled a burnt Yorkshire when it came out of the oven.
