About this Bake
A retirement cake for my mum's colleague, Ken, who loves his bagpipes. The main cake is a Victoria sponge and the bagpipe bag is a carved Madeira cake. Pipes are sugar paste with central skewer to attach them. The phrase is Doric (North-East of Scotland dialect).
Top tip
If carving a cake, freeze it then leave it for around half an hour before working your magic with a knife.
