About this Bake
Birthday cake for my Minion-mad 3 year old. Madeira sponge base, buttercream filling/coating and fondant icing decoration. The blue was custom blended to match the denim shorts! The hat is made out of wrapping paper and those are real sparklers but the rest is all icing.
Top tip
I bought one of those hemisphere cake tins for the head (6" diam), baked 2 x 6" round cakes and stacked them with a chopstick through the centres for stability.
