About this Bake

This was a red velvet cake filled with strawberry jam and buttercream, decorated to celebrate the future father-in-law's 70th birthday. Thanks to lockdown, I had lots of time to practise.

Top tip

When working with royal icing, use a marble or quartz worktop and lots of icing sugar to stop it sticking and keep it cool!
