About this Bake
A triple chocolate cake with a buttercream marbled crumb coat and a caramelised sugar decor. This was my first attempt at a crumb coat. I'd never done this before ever, so was pretty pleased.
Top tip
Ensure the frosting is pliable before crumb coating the cake. A stiff frosting simply will not spread with ease. Heat the sugar for the caramel only until it is fully dissolved. Return if it becomes too hard to work with, but be careful as caramel burns.
