About this Bake
This was a vanilla sponge cake with a strawberry jam filling, vanilla buttercream and edible 24ct gold leaf.
Top tip
Once you have smoothed the buttercream over the cake, it is advisable to allow the cake to set in the fridge for an hour, before decorating it with the gold leaf and rosettes.
