About this Bake
I made this five-layer chocolate with vanilla buttercream cake for my granddaughter's 5th birthday. I made over 300 scales in four colours. Hidden inside were lots of pearlised sweets and sprinkles that poured out when the cake was cut. She loved it.
Top tip
Make the tail several days beforehand (as fondant takes days to dry) so it is sturdy enough to stand upright. Dowels were placed inside the fondant for ease of putting it on top.
