Junior Bake Off is back along with a trio of familiar faces…
Comedian and author Harry Hill will be returning to the tent after his ‘memorable’ appearance on The Great Stand Up To Cancer Bake Off. His 3D biscuit scene ‘The Day I Went On Holiday With Camilla Parker Bowles’ had the judges in stitches.
“I’m very excited to be going back in the tent and breathing the cake fumes – I know a certain Duchess will be looking on, brimming with pride,” he said.
Bake Off’s own Prue Leith will also be joining Junior Bake Off as a judge. Prue has long campaigned about the importance of teaching children about food, saying: “Almost all cooks and bakers start with brownies or pizza, finding it fun, creative and satisfying. So the more we can do to widen the nation’s interest in good food the better. I’m really thrilled to be asked to judge Junior Bake Off.”
The last layer in the ice cream sandwich is Liam Charles, Bake Off alumni, host of Bake Off: The Professionals and star of his own baking series Liam Bakes. Liam is excited to share everything he learned as a baker in the tent to encourage the next generation of bakers. “From competing to hosting and now judging, it’s insane. It’s going to be great to see what the junior bakers come up with because this is around the age I started,” he said. “I’m well chuffed to be sharing the experience with Prue and Harry, it’s gonna be wicked, ROLL ON THE JUNIORS!!”
The BAFTA award-winning Junior Bake Off will broadcast on Channel 4 later this year.
