This spooky chocolate bark is great fun to make with children and is perfect for Halloween gifting or party snacking. Let your imagination run wild with toppings – swap out the pistachios, cherries, and popping candy for any other spooky or seasonal ingredients to create your own frightfully fun masterpiece.

Step 1

Line a 23x33cm baking tray with baking parchment.

Step 2

Melt the milk chocolate in a heatproof bowl in the microwave, in 30 seconds bursts, stirring each time. Stir in the orange oil.

Step 3

Melt the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl in the microwave, in 30 seconds bursts, stirring each time. Spoon into a heatproof piping bag.

Step 4

Pour the milk chocolate onto the lined baking tray, spreading it evenly with a palette knife or spatula.

Step 5

Snip the end of the piping bag filled with white chocolate. Pipe concentric circles into the milk chocolate. Drag a cocktail stick from the centre outward to create a spider’s web effect.

Step 6

Scatter over the pistachios, sour cherries and popping candy. Leave to cool and set hard. You can use the fridge or freezer if you are in a hurry.

Step 7

Break into shards or alternatively, wrap in baking parchment tied with ribbon and give to a friend as a spooky gift.
